SBU's Master of Science in Educational Administration is a 38-hour degree program leading to initial K-12 principal certification. This master degree program will broaden your knowledge and strengthen your skills for building-level leadership roles in today's complex educational environment.

Developed in accordance with certification requirements established by the Missouri Board of Education, the Educational Administration program is approved by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.

Upon successful completion of this program, the required courses, and a state test, you will receive certification as a building-level administrator.

Educational Administration courses are offered in a hybrid format, which is a fusion of real-time class sessions (accessed in a variety of mediums) and online coursework. The online courses in this degree program allow for more flexibility for our students.

MSE in Educational Administration Course Rotation

Course Delivery Types

Online (OL) — Complete assignments when it is most convenient for you with online courses that are facilitated by our highly qualified faculty through the Blackboard Learning Management System. A “+ #” indicates the number of real-time class sessions, if any, during the semester. Real-time class sessions may be accessed through Zoom video conferencing software, ITV or seated on campus.

Hybrid (H) — Interact with your peers and faculty through a fusion of real-time class sessions and online coursework. Real-time class sessions may be accessed through Zoom video conferencing software, ITV or seated on campus. Online coursework is facilitated through the Blackboard Learning Management System.

Face-to-face (F) — Build stronger relationships with your peers and faculty as you meet in real-time class sessions all semester long. Class sessions may be accessed through Zoom video conferencing software, ITV or seated on campus.

Arranged — Internships are arranged with faculty.
